NOFBX™ High Altitude Long Endurance Engine
Develop a high energy density powerplant for use in High Altitude Long Endurance aircraft.

Principal Investigator:
Greg Mungas
Technology Updates:
- Analyzed the ability to use NOFBX™ monopropellants in aircraft powerplants that don’t require air.
- Designed and modified an existing engine to successfully demonstrate continuous operation of combusting NOFBX™ monopropellants to generate aircraft propulsive capability.
- Undertook advanced high temperature chemistry, gas dynamics, thermal and structural analysis, tool development, and systems studies of alternative high performance NOFBX™ architectures and NOFBX™ monopropellant blend chemistry to minimize fuel consumption for a given powerplant output power
- Developed and demonstrated 2nd generation NOFBX™ HALE powerplant
Patents:
One Pending Patent in advanced high temperature/low heat rejection engine design
